Libra- 10/Cups: Libra, October looks like a mighty fine month for you! 10/Cups signifies a happy and settled time among family and friends with a sense of enjoyment in the home. Are you thinking of dinner parties for fall, Libra? Being the domestic God(dess) this month will suit you just fine as the days get darker and settle around us. Snuggle in and watch a netflix marathon with your near and dear, you deserve it!
Scorpio- 9/Wands: Hey Scorpio October sees you still battling some cause and you might be weary but this card is a signal to keep going as you are in the final push. This card can also signify a sense of being misunderstood, under appreciated or under valued. Despite being undervalued you will carry on and finish a project to its completion. Do it for you, Scorpio, even if the whole world does not understand or actively speaks against you. Despite being radically misunderstood (most likely at work) you are almost at the finish line. This card is the guy handing you a cup of water as you run the last mile, you can DO it! Sagittarius- Queen/Cups: Are you thinking of music and poetry for fall, Sag? This Queen signifies spending some time in an artistic, spiritual or compassionate pursuit for October and doing it without a goal necessarily, but just for enjoyment’s sake. This Queen also can mean either you need to allow the softer side of you express yourself or a woman with these qualities is important for you to connect with this month. Like water, allow yourself to go with the flow and lay the battles to the side. Capricorn- King/Swords: October will request that you tighten up your communication with everyone. The first agreement is to be impeccable with your word. Strive hard to ensure that what you communicate is transparent, honest to a fault, objective and goal driven. This card, to me, feels like there may be misunderstandings between you and others this month mostly due to communication issues. Allow your head to do the talking, don’t take things personal (keep your heart out of complex matters for you) and I encourage you to read The Four Agreements, as I think this is very apt for you in October. Aquarius- 4/Pentacles: Aquarius, October may bring you opportunities to give of yourself, money, time or skills and the hard task before you is discerning what or who is worthy of all that goodness inside of you. In October, try to take the middle path and choose the missions, the people, the values that you wish to help. The choice does not have to rely on the fact that you will be thanked, but rather that you feel good when you do so and it makes you a more complete person when you do. It’s also ok to say no, no matter how obligated they make you feel. Pisces- The Hermit: You’ve been so busy running around in a constant haze of tasks to fulfill that October is asking that you take some time for yourself. This time should be spent in self development and spiritual or physical growth. It’s ok to take care of yourself, it is not selfish, but first you need to start minimizing the busy-work distractions that have been dominating your life to the point where now you need to check in. As a mutable sign, it is very important to take to time to ground and center, pick an aspect of yourself or your life that you want to focus on in October and spend the alone time needed to make yourself feel better. Aries- The Hierophant: Picking up the gauntlet of leadership is often easier said than done, ram. Or, rather, it’s easy to pick up but hard to carry long-term. This card often signifies leadership as well as conservative spiritual practices. Perhaps you need to revisit your childhood religious practices to see if there is any meaning for you there laying forgotten. Perhaps you need to work on your relationship with the Source in the real, visceral way we learned from our families, communities or culture. This card also signifies taking on some aspect of religious life and guiding others through a process or understanding. Sustained spiritual practice is highlighted for you in October. Taurus- Page/Pentacles: This 10th month of the year appears to be a year where you are focused on your wealth, your business or scholarship. Time to buckle down and get these financial and work related matters in order. Most likely, you will be learning some new skills, needing your time and attention right now. While others will be partying it away in October, you bull will be working on your game plan, thinking about new directions with said plan and particularly focusing on the details. You also may receive information on how to implement these affairs more fully so keep your ears peeled. Gemini- Five/Pentacles: You may feel freezed out in October, Gemini, as this card can often signify a sense of being the one on the outside. If you are not getting invited to the party, make your own rather than over analyzing your social situations. Mercury goes retrograde in October which is particularly hard hitting on Geminis whose ruling planet is Mercury, causing difficulties in communication, travel, agreements and technology; the Tarot is also showing us that the resulting anxiety will be with you for this month, too. Take October to create a sense of inclusion, even if you have to be the one to do the including, take it easy and pick up a hobby that will help you work out your sense of dis-ease before your restless gets the best of you. Work hard to parlay anxiousness into creative action. Cancer- Five/Wands: How do you deal with competition, Cancer? How do you confront others or how well do you handle argument, conflict and negative feedback? I think this is also the influence of Mercury going retrograde on you so for the month of October there will be a lot of lessons in how you deal with others’ aggression and opportunities to deflect unwanted attention being directed towards you. All competition and conflict are not equal though, and some can be good. Steel your back bone and be prepared to fight for what you believe in. Also, you can still love a competitor and see conflict as opportunities to raise your vibration. Leo- The Star: October shines gently for you Leo, in fact, looking back at the cards I have pulled for you over the last several months, 2013 has been by and large, a good year for you. Take October to ‘wish upon a star’, give yourself permission to make those wishes and know that hope goes a long way towards making them a reality for yourself and those you love. October is a pleasant, hopeful, graceful month…enjoy! Virgo- Two of Swords: October is a warning to you that you could waste a lot of time and energy on indecision this month. When we are indecisive we feel insecure, anxious, and nervous and mull over a problem more than if we just picked a side already. Virgo, you may be called to take a stand, and if you stay on the sidelines trying to be friends with everyone your credibility will take a hit. Sometimes it doesn’t even matter which option we choose, but that once we have chosen we can begin to act on that choice. Please do not fretter away October trying to weigh out every contingency, make a decision and GO.
