Will He(She) Come Back? |
8 of Cups Setting: The subtle nuance of this card usually indicates that there is the fear of the unknown tying you to a bad character. Perhaps you were with this guy a long time, or single for a long time before he came along. There is the quality of a codependent and enabling relationship when this message makes its appearance (There are still so many cups, there is good here but is it enough?) Never sure if you should cut your losses, you get just enough to keep you on the line. |
You must face the unknown here, ambiguity, time being single, not grasping for the next known thing is a HUGE part of your spiritual journey. This is a heavy karmic card with a lifetime lesson in the making. But you are not really alone, notice that Moon up there? She is guiding your steps and lighting your path with Lunar love, bigger forces are in play, let go of the wheel.
Your Soul is in Jeopardy if You Continue
10 of Swords Setting: This relationship could possibly be extremely toxic and more often than not filled with deceit on both sides. This relationship has absolutely no trust or respect left. You could be stuck in an abusive situation and feel trapped. You might feel embarrassed, or your self esteem is so low you wonder if you can or will be loved ever again. |
Run, get out, no don't grab that lamp you like you just need to GTFO. There is absolutely nothing redeemable in this relationship except for pain. In fact, you might have a strange addiction to the pain this relationship causes and you remain stuck. Don't wait to "tie lose ends" or "get closure. Those are tools that could keep you in this, you just need to go and save yourself. The building is burning, jump out the window. Whenever this card appears, especially in questions like this, it is like the cards are screaming at you. Get out get out get out, now!
Nope, Feel This, Babe
5 of Cups Setting: This is a mourner's card and for me is the card that speaks to the sadness after a break up. Looking at the spilled cups, the deed is done and all that is left for us to do is to feel the grief that this card evokes. The mourner needs some time alone to process what has happened and to heal. |
This card can often show up in two ways: most commonly it appears when we are afraid of grief and we might stay in a bad relationship just because we are terrified of feeling the deep sadness an ending could bring. This card is also reminder to us that our lives are richly emotional and by denying the feel of some emotions, we can stay in situations deeply painful in other ways. Second, it is a message to not attempt to get him back, perhaps there has been a long on again off again situation and the message here is about truly letting this dying thing die.
He'll Come Knocking, But Don't You DARE Open That Door
7 of Swords Setting: This card most often shows up if someone is cheating or is otherwise trying to pull the wool over your eyes. Narcissists. Sociopaths. Adulterers. Get the drift here. Often you think everything is just fine, or perhaps there is a misunderstanding, or maybe you know some of these things but he or she is like that just because they haven't been loved by you, yet. This card is one of the hardest to communicate to clients because the pain is being hidden from them, or their charm factor gets them to not see what the other doesn't want them to see. |
As charming, as warm, as passionate, as tear-filled eye entreaties you might get. Do not let this one back in. He is the guy who ghosted you 2 months ago and all the sudden you get a "Hi" text. Look under the hood, all the promises in the world (glittering, shiny promises about how he will love you) is often directly proportional to the hurt he has inflicted. Don't let this one back in.
No, Honeypie
3 of Swords Setting: I once had a student who had a great way of looking at this card. She said that each sword is the sword of truth piercing the illusions that desire, attachment, and infatuation can bring. This card is pure truth. You will get your beating heart broke if you continue on with this situation. There is no redemption, there is no way around this one, you must see this for what this is, nothing but hear pain is for you here. |
This card often appears when we are grasping at straws. Hoping for a different outcome to the one we know is happening deep down inside, this card's appearance suggests that the issue at hand is just accepting the fact that this will not work out. Not now. Not ever.
Move. On. Dot. Com.
6 of Swords Setting: Sometimes this card might feel a little like the 8 of Cups in tone (the first one we discussed above) because it is about leaving a situation. But the emphasis here is less about moving into an unknown state but is more about reassurance. In this picture you see a woman who is tired, she has been through some tough stuff. Someone is carrying her over to a place that is brighter, kinder, gentler. |
This card's arrival usually indicates that the client in question desperately needs to hear that he is absolutely going to be OK, that where he is headed is guaranteed by the universe to be 100% better than what he has had before. This is a "you are being carried" kind of card. Divine providence, gentle guiding and a land more plentiful. This card indicates a time of rest usually and of healing. Often this card presents when a relationship was abusive.
These are tough cards. They are painful cards. These are the last kinds of cards we want to see. But often, we know these things deep down. We might go to get a tarot reading hoping against hope that it ain't so. But the tarot truly is about your greatest good, even when it is hard to hear. These cards exist because the pain of love is fundamental to the human experience, and these cards are the lynch pin of your happiness and success. Ignore them at your own peril.
Oh, boy. I've had days when every order in queue, back to back, was some variation of "Will my lover come back?" It's a terrifically common question, although as you pointed out people don't ask this question if it's not severely painful. A frequent concern, but the individual impact can be quite varied.
Loved the trading. So true
